Why do we do it?
Most "genealogy services" fall into three categories. Knowing them helps you see we aim to offer something a little different:
The Database Goliaths (Ancestry, MyHeritage): They sell access, not results. They provide the records, but the user has to do all the work. Our edge: We work for you.
The Education Platforms (Legacy Family Tree Webinars): They sell training. They tell you how to do it. Our edge: We are your researcher who actually helps build the tree.
The High-End Research Firms (Legacy Tree Genealogists): They sell one-time projects that often cost $2,000–$5,000 upfront. Our edge: We are affordable and ongoing. We are a "retainer" rather than a massive one-time expense.
Why the 6 month time frame?
We are not hoping you buy a subscription and then forget about it, only to realize later you've been paying for services not being used. Our 6 month time frame is intended to be affordable for you to get some help to break thru those brick walls, and sort and clean the junk and mistakes from your online trees. We all know hints get attached to people on those big genealogy sites that aren't correct. While you are more than welcome to purchase additional subscriptions, we do have a limited number to fulfill at any given time and the 6 month time frame allows for others to purchase subscriptions as vacancies open up. We are currently capped at 10 but are planning for more in the near future as demand grows.
